The Time Capsule

Memory does not live only in official records. It lives in letters, photographs, stories passed down by word of mouth, and simple objects that have traveled through generations. The Time Capsule of Ancestry Park was created to preserve all of this. It is both a symbolic and a physical space, designed to collect and protect family memories so they are not lost — and can one day be rediscovered by those who come after us.

What Is the Time Capsule

The Time Capsule is a container dedicated to family memory, connected to the adoption of a tree at Ancestry Park. Inside the capsule, it is possible to include:
  • letters addressed to future descendants
  • family photographs
  • copies of a family tree
  • written stories, testimonies, and personal memories
  • small symbolic objects linked to family history
Each capsule is tied to a name, a family, and a tree. A deeply personal gesture that becomes part of a shared, collective memory.

A Bridge Between Generations

The Time Capsule is not meant only to be sealed, but to be passed on. It can be:
  • opened on a predetermined future date
  • symbolically entrusted to future generations
  • accompanied by a dedication or a message addressed to those who will come after
In this way, Ancestry Park becomes a place where time does not erase — it preserves.

A Memory That Travels Across the World

For those who live far from Italy, the Time Capsule represents a deep connection to their origins. Even from a distance, it is possible to:
  • dedicate a capsule to an ancestor
  • send digitized materials
  • know that one’s family story is preserved in a real, living, and visitable place
A point of return — today and tomorrow.

A Simple Gesture, a Lasting Value

Creating a Time Capsule means making a conscious choice: not allowing family memory to fade, but entrusting it to a place created to protect it. At Ancestry Park, every Time Capsule is a promise to the future.
